Arek the Merchant

"Perhaps I'll take a quick walk."

rek is a merchant who resides in the village of Tyruss on Tyruss Isle. He is the most well known merchant on the island, and has even gained some fame on the mainland as travellers tell stories of him when they return home. Arek can be found at any time in his shop between the main Tyruss platform and the docks, where he sells gear to new adventurers. Arek made his start in the world of merchants in his hometown of Atarus, where he and his partner in buisness named Ilrend, set up a small shop called The Wanderer's Wardrobe. The attitude of the two merchants and the quality of their products quickly boosted them to the height of popularity in the Atarian buisness world. Several years after the Wanderer was established, Ilrend decided that he no longer wanted to live a merchant's life, and left his share of the store to Arek. Without his partner, Arek did not have the drive to continue his large shop, and sold it to a wealthy Atarian merchant, giving a large portion of the gold back to the Atarian community to help other aspiring merchants. He then moved out to Tyruss Isle to start a smaller, nameless shop known to the citizens of the area simply as Arek's Shop. In his first few months on the island, Arek had a bad habit of wandering the island during store hours, perhaps in memory of having the large city of Atarus to explore, but recently, he has been keeping to his counter, greeting new arrivals with the same enthusiasm as always.
