Sinbane
inbane is a poisonous mushroom found in caves. It most commonly grows on the surface of moss covered rocks, but sometimes can be found sprouting from dead tree trunks. Sinbane's poisonous effect is somewhat weak, if eaten it can cause temporary vision loss, for as little as a few minutes. No long term side effects are known. Sinbane requires very little moisture, and can actually survive off the small amounts of water vapor in the air. The plant is very vulnerable to high winds, which is the main reason why it mostly grows in caverns.
Sinbane got its name because of its dark, red tinted cap which early explorers believed was symbolic of the fires of hell. This belief was strengthened by the fact that Sinbane caps are very brittle, and will easily crumble and scatter, like ashes of a fire. Sinbane was originally named Ashes of Sin, but the name is considered outdated due to its somewhat non-scientific origins.
