The Hand of Aisea

he Legend of Dekkane tells us that the world was created when Aisea placed her hand on the map of Itsumo. Through careful study of the map and decades of philosophy, scholars have come up with this tale of how the features of Itsumo were formed by the touch of each of the fingers of Aisea's hand.

nui Forest was were her forefinger was placed. The depression formed a great lake at the center of the forest, the water stored there possessing magical properties (See The Twin Villages). Aisea's fingers rested on what would be the future sites of Havvan, Atarus, and the tip of the Jissirt Peninsula, her thumb at Tyruss Isle. It is said that as her power drained, she curled her fingers inward, and buckled the land under them, forming the Grakkan Mountains. As her power ran dry, and she withdrew her hand from the map, her finger ripped a giant chasm now know as The Vein straight through the Plains of Arredus.

"An Unfinished World"

ince Aisea's power was not enough to finish Itsumo, several spots across the map were left in a darkness. Demons sprang from these spots, and the first generations of Itsumo fought against them for years. Eventually, the people found safety in Havvan and Atarus, and those left in the field were killed by the monsters. In time, the guardsmen fought off the demons, and banished them to the underground from which they came. Nowadays, they are focused in the deepest parts of The Vein, but have also risen to the surface through ancient ruins all over Itsumo.
